Georgian Citizens Will Have Possibility to Work Legally in Israel

According to the Agreement between State of Israel and Government of Georgia Georgian citizens will have possibility to get employed in Israel.

In this regard, Deputy Minister of Internally Displaced Persons from the Occupied Territories, Labor, Health and Social Affairs of Georgia, Ms. Tamar Barkalaia met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the State of Israel to Georgia, H. E. Ran Gidor.

The parties discussed in details the topic of legal employment in Israel.

The registration of Georgian citizens for legal employment in Israel will start from April12 and will continue throughout the year.   The job applicants will go through initial registration at the special registration portal of the Ministry of Health: https://workabroad.moh.gov.ge/

Georgian citizens will have possibility to get temporary, legally employed at the labor market of Israel during a year. The employment is possible at the position of support care givers at the long-term care facilities.

“Today I was honored to meet with the Deputy Minister in order to officially move to the implementation phase of our bilateral agreement, which will give a wonderful opportunity for up to one thousand Georgian citizens to come to work in Israel. This is a relatively new line of work in Israel and we were very careful about which foreign governments we approach for this. And so far we selected only two countries and Georgia is one of those two”, - stated the Ambassador.

According to Ambassador, they have a lot of respect for the kind of qualification and professional trainings these specialists receive in Georgia.

“Today one more step towards possibility for Georgian citizens to work legally in various developed countries was made.  We start implementation of Agreement signed with Israel from Monday. According to the Agreement, our care givers will have possibility to work in Israel for one year with corresponding remuneration”, - stated Tamar Barkalaia.

According to the Deputy Minister, it is a significant achievement which allows our citizens having desire to work abroad to have possibility to work legally, not to stay illegally in foreign country and have their right protected in the country they work.
