- About the Department
Main objectives and functions of the Labour Conditions Inspecting Department (LCID) :
Labour Conditions Inspecting Department (LCID) was created in 2015, which aims to provide Occupational Safety and health Culture in Georgia.
Main functions and Directions of the Department:
a) One of the priorities of the Department is to implement state supervision within the limits of the authorities granted by the legislation in order to inforce the safety and health protection of the workers employed in the hard, harmful and hazardous workplace;
b) State supervision to prevent forced labour and labour exploitation. Study of discrimination cases and their causes, accounting and issuing recommendations;
c) Supervision over the protection of the requirements of the labour legislation;
d) Participation in the elaboration of a draft legislative and normative act on labour legislation and labour safety in order to achieve the objectives of the Department;
e) Discussion of claims, letters and complaints of citizens in the frames of authority granted by the Georgian legislation;
